Where can I buy ballet shoes and dancewear?

• Online at Discount Dance Supply (Use discount code TP71815 to support VBA and get 8% off your first order.)

• Prima Dancewear in San Jose

• Contra Costa Dancewear in Walnut Creek

Where should I buy pointe shoes?

• Do NOT buy pointe shoes without your instructor's approval.

• We prefer to arrange a field trip for a new pointe student's first fitting.

• Perfectly fit pointe shoes are important, so buying them at a store with knowledgeable staff and a large selection is best.

Can I join a class mid-session?

• Yes. For technique classes, it may be too late to join the recital, but you can still learn the steps and practice with the other students.

• The online classes run year-round. Any week is a good time to join.

Are there opportunities to dance on stage?

• Yes. We offer two recitals per year at the end of each Fall and Spring session. Information is distributed to participants a few weeks into the session.

• Regular attendees of the adult/teen drop-in classes are offered the opportunity to join the spring recital, typically held Memorial Day weekend.

• Note: Due to COVID-19, all recital plans are tentative and subject to change.

Must I dance on stage?

• No. Recital participation is optional. However, it is a very rewarding and fun experience, and we encourage you to try it.

• For technique classes, weekly class time is spent learning and memorizing recital choreography, which is a great way to learn new steps, even if you choose not to go on stage.

Can I make up a missed class?

• Yes. Within two weeks of the missed class, you may attend another class of equal or lower level.

• Call or email to let us know of your intent to attend a class for a make-up.
